On October 25, 2008, Muslim Magomayev passed away.

Farewell ceremonies took place in Moscow and Baku —cities where he was known, loved, and listened to by millions.

Thousands of people gathered to pay their last respects.Concert halls were full, and the streets were filled with people who came to say “thank you.”

His music was heard everywhere during those days —
as a farewell… and as a lasting memory.

On October 29, he was laid to rest in Baku,
at the Alley of Honor — close to his roots.
